The cobbled roads and paths of Belgium can be hell on bikes.
Busted wheels, cracked frames, and blown tubes are the occupational hazards of being a rider...and a mechanic...at the spring classics.
Some teams roll out special stealth-stuff for the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix.
But are these bikes really all that different from what you and I ride back at home?
We cornered Ian Sherburne, BMC's chief mechanic, as the support crew prepared the team's bikes for the Belgian cobbles. Ian gives us the lowdown on the BMC bikes for Belgium, in the following CycleTo video.

He is one of the world's biggest cycling fans, and he's one the funniest people on the planet.
When Robin Williams shows up at a bike race, you never know what might happen.
Our CycleTo camera was rolling as BMC chief mechanic Ian Sherburne gave Robin the up-close-and-personal look at the bikes the BMC team rides in the Tour of California.
A word of warning. This video is rated "R" because of some "colorful" language from Mr. Williams. See and hear it for yourself, below.

The 2010 Giro d'Italia came to a triumphant end one week ago, inside Verona's Roman arena. Nearly everyone agreed that it was a spectacular ending to a superb race, but three weeks of the Giro took it's toll on the riders.
Bad weather, long transfers, and general chaos made for less-than-ideal conditions for the guys who had to get out there and battle on their bikes every day.
So, how would they change it, if they could? We talked to Aussie Matthew Lloyd, the winner of the green climber's jersey at the Giro. He gave us a piece of his mind, and some suggestions on what they could do differently, in the following CycleTo video.

The view from the top row of the Roman arena in Verona was simply spectacular.
...and looking at the crowd of thousands from smack-dab in the middle of the pink runway gave us a perspective unlike any other.
Complimenti grande to the organizers of the race for assembling this stunning setting for the final day of the 2010 Giro d'Italia. Ivan Basso may have won the race, but the larger victory goes to the people who made this all happen. It's unlike anything we've seen, or may ever see, at the finish of a major sporting event.
Want to experience what it was like to be there? From the walk up the ancient stone steps into the arena, to the crowd going nuts as Michele Scarponi rolled down the pink promenade, to the full-throated singing of the Italian national anthem, the following CycleTo video just might send chills up your spine.

The start of the Tour de France is creeping up on us, but before we turn our backs on Italy, we want to share a few more memorable moments from this year's Giro d'Italia.
The daily podium ceremony is one of the highlights of every stage. It's a choreographed presentation, with a certain sequence and ceremony to everything.
It's one thing to watch overall leader David Arroyo receive his Maglia Rosa if you're watching from in front of the stage...it's another thing to be camped out on the side, as the race leader sprays the ceremonial prosecco as far as possible.
Check out the following CycleTo video...you can almost feel the shower of Italian bubbly in your face.
