It was an all-Garmin weekend in beautiful Marin County, CA. The NorCal High School Mountain Bike League's annual "CycleFest" weekend wrapped-up with a spirited 50 mile ride out to the California coast and back, lead by Garmin-Slipsteam boss Jonathan Vaughters, and teammates Lucas Euser and Steven Cozza. The Garmin guys lead a pack of some 200 riders along the route on a picture-perfect NorCal day.
The night before the ride, Vaughters entertained a packed house in Mill Valley, CA on Saturday. He covered everything from the possibility of Alberto Contador joining his Garmin team for 2010, to the day he and Christian Vande Velde tried to launch rockets into George Hincapie's apartment in Girona, Spain. We'll be posting the best of our hour-long chat with JV all week here in CycleTo, beginning Monday. But first, a look at the Garmin guys at play on the roads of Marin, below. |

We've become a big fan of the online movies that people create on the xtranormal site, but this one may be the best we've seen so far. Today's movie is a conversation, of sorts, between two people...but one is just an innocent bystander, while the other rambles and babbles on and on and on about how great he is, both on and off the bike. Be forewarned, before you view this CycleTo video...there is some bad language. So, if you're the sensitive type and you think you might be offended, do not click below. The rest of you are free to enjoy this all-too-familiar conversation. |

The weather gods were smiling down on the royalty of cycling today. After a week of wind and rain and cold temps, the day dawned sunny and dry for the boys on the BMC pro team at their Agoura Hills, CA training camp.
Fresh from their rides at the Tour Down Under, world champion Cadel Evans and US champ George Hincapie lead the team through an easy 90 minute roll through the countryside northwest of Los Angeles.
Want to see what it looked like? Ride along with BMC, in the following CycleTo photos. |

The response to the black long sleeve CycleTo jersey that we offered as our freebie last week was overwhelming. We received hundreds and hundreds of entries...more than any other previous CycleTo freebie. We randomized the list, took the name that came up on top, and our lucky winner is...(drumroll, please)... RaeLynn Milley of Moorpark, CA. Congratulations, RaeLynn! To all of you who entered but didn't win, don't despair. We have a few more of the black long sleeve CycleTo jerseys, and we're making them available to purchase on EBay, here. Quantities are limited, so if you'd like to be seen in the coolest cold weather jersey around, act now. If you wonder which size might be right for you, check out the Vermac sizing chart, here. |

We all need something to get us through the cold days and weeks of winter that lie ahead...here's our contribution.
We're putting all sizes of our black, long sleeve CycleTo jerseys on sale. Our stock of XXS, XS, S and M jerseys are now available at big discounts...30% off the regular price. It's a helluva deal.
And the story on this photo? That's RaeLynn Milley, a SoCal rider, coach, and winner of the black long sleeve CycleTo jersey that we gave away as a recent CycleTo freebie. We shot this photo of RaeLynn at BMC's pre-season camp last week. The bike in the picture belongs to US champ George Hincapie...sadly, it's not for sale. But if you want your own black CycleTo jersey, you can find all the details here. |
