Every month, the United States Olympic Committee picks two American athletes, one male and one female, as their athletes of month.

For the month of September, a handful of worthy women are up for the honor, but in our opinion, none are more worthy than Kristin Armstrong, the winner of the World Championship Time Trial last month in Mendrisio, Switzerland. Kristin also finished fourth in the road race at Mendrisio...it was the last race of her stellar cycling career.
