He hasn't done anything like this is nearly three months...not since that rainy May day in Spain when he was hit by a car while out on a training ride. Garmin-Slipstream's Lucas Euser cracked his right kneecap, broke three ribs, and then spent the next five days in a Spanish hospital before returing to his NorCal home. His wounds have healed, the broken bones are back together, and now Lucas is trying to get his body back in shape for the rigors of the pro tour. We tagged along for Euser's first "real" ride since May 15th...50+ miles, starting and ending at Napa River Velo, up the Silverado Trail, around Lake Hennessey and back. For the Garmin GPS stats from the ride, go here. We'll have more from Lucas this week on CycleTo. He'll talk about that rainy day on the road in Spain, the physical and mental rehab he's had to endure, and his plans for the rest of the year. Watch for our video interviews with Lucas in the coming days. |
