There is a race-within-a-race every day at the Giro d'Italia. It's the daily battle for position in the peloton, between the support vehicles and the motorcycle-mounted photographers. It can get intense...very intense...and often very scary, as the various vehicles weave in and out of each other, often three or four abreast on the road. Photographer Liz Kreutz, a close friend of Lance Armstrong and the official photographer of his comeback to cycling, is at the Giro to capture the best images in Italy. Liz agreed to wear the CycleTo helmet cam for an inside-the-pack look at what really goes on in a race. It's a viewpoint that's hardly ever shown on TV. They scream down the descents and fly on the flats, all in an attempt to get into the best position in the race. Hold on tight, for a look at "Kreutz Cam" in the following CycleTo video. |
